CFC chairman Charles Njonjo has decried the post election violence being experienced in parts of the country terming it as ethnic cleansing.
Njonjo says the situation could have been prompted by the majimbo system of government fronted by the opposition during election campaigns last year.
He called on Kenyans to shun tribalism and strive to live in harmony.
Njonjo was speaking after officiating the opening of the Kijani music festival meant to raise money to assist those displaced by skirmishes.
Meanwhile, the Ameru Leaders Forum has urged President Mwai Kibaki and ODM leader Raila Odinga to embrace dialogue in resolving the political impasse in the country instead of relying on foreign mediators.
Speaking to the press at a Meru hotel, the leaders said the two politician understood the cause of the crisis and should strive to resolve it rather than invite people with less knowledge about the issues involved.
The forum Chairman, Lawi Imathiu, called on the two to ask their supporters to stop the anarchy.
Imathiu said they were confident the two will come to a mutual agreement to end the crisis.
Former UN boss Kofi Annan is in the country to meet both President Kibaki and Raila over the political crisis that arose after the December 27 polls.
