Meru elders have convened a meeting to discuss the State House incident allegedly involving the First Lady and Central Imenti MP, Mr Gitobu Imanyara.
Imanyara, a Njuri Ncheke elder, alleges that the First Lady Lucy Kibaki assaulted him at State House a month ago.
The elders met on Friday and have now taken up the matter on behalf of the MP.
They have demanded a fine of a he-goat and an unreserved apology from the First Family.
Imanyara has consequently postponed plans to sue his alleged assailant. The elders want the matter resolved traditionally.
They met at Gatimbi DC’s compound, but declined to make their resolutions public.
The area Njuri Ncheke chairman, Mr Julius Muthamia, said there would be another meeting on Tuesday to announce.
