The Government will soon be releasing a program on the resettlement of internally displaced persons.
Speaking during the weekly media briefing, government spokesperson Dr. Alfred Mutua says the government is encouraged by the support of politicians – especially from the affected areas who have, in our planning meetings, expressed their unequivocal support to the resettlement of all displaced persons back to their homes and land.
” This is in the spirit that all Kenyans have a right to settle, buy property, travel, own land and engage in income generating activities in any part of the country despite of where they come from or their ethnic background.” He said.
Mutua said that this is also in the spirit of a Nation aspiring to be great and one that treats its citizens with respect and love.
” We can live together as brothers and sisters. Hatred should never be allowed to thrive among us. As President Kibaki said recently, young people do not carry the baggage of tribalism. Therefore, everyone needs to ensure an environment where we all say No to hatred and Yes to peace, justice, love and unity.” He added.
