Parliament to adjourn for two weeks

Written By:Nelly Moraa   , Posted: Tue, Mar 25, 2008

Parliament is scheduled to adjourn Tuesday evening for two weeks and resume business on 15th of April.

An adjournment motion was scheduled on a supplementary order paper and is currently being debated.

The adjournment comes amid anxiety over the formation of a grand coalition cabinet.

Delay in announcement of the cabinet impacts directly on operations in parliament.

On Tuesday afternoon a question directed to the Ministry of Agriculture could not be answered due to lack of a minister forcing the leader of Government business Kalonzo Musyoka to respond to the question.

The adjournment could be linked to the naming of the new grand coalition cabinet.
