There will be no alienation of any public land with no written justification.
That is the stern message passed across by lands minister James Orengo as he took up his new office.
Orengo says any allotment without title deeds must be supported by written justification to avoid misuse of public land.
Both the former and current ministers for lands were in agreement that the ministry’s image has been tainted due to corruption.
Orengo says he will with work with the other staff to ensure the image of the ministry is changed. He added that land reforms is a priority.
From now on, the minister says no allotment of public land will be issued.
He further says his ministry will look into critical issues like double allocation and registration of land putting into consideration the Ndung’u report.
On IDPs, he said the government must find a lasting solution to avoid resurgence of what was witnessed in the country in the past three months.
