Unknown arsonists petrol bombed two business premises at Karagita estate in Naivasha in what appears to be an upsurge of crime in the area.
According to area residents, the arsonists took advantage of the heavy rains that were pounding the area to break into the shops before petrol bombing them.
Confirming the incident, Naivasha OCPD Willy Lugusa said police had launched investigations into the incident.
Elsewhere irate members of a football club over the weekend torched two houses in Gituba village in Kirinyaga district after their colleague was allegedly murdered by members of his own family.
According to Kirinyaga Police boss, Herbert Khaemba, the mob was incensed when the victim’s mother and his brothers attempted to conceal the killing of the 32-year-old footballer.
The police boss told the Kenya News Agency that the brothers had earlier fought over a land dispute with one of the brothers clobbering the footballer with a blunt object.
And a 35-year-old man was hacked to death by his two brothers in Ndoleli location Igembe district over an alleged protracted family land feud.
The victim was brutally attacked and slashed several times with machetes by his younger siblings who also severed his manhood.
The duo also chopped off the victim’s two right hand fingers during the bizarre incident. Area deputy OCPD Hesbon Kadenge said the suspects were aggrieved when the deceased assaulted their aging father, forcefully demanding a portion of the family land.
Kadenge says police have launched a manhunt for the two brothers who went underground after executing the murder.
