I was in the city capital watching live press conference on TV live from the PM office. Soon after verdict PM Raila in a press conference accepted the verdict and wished all election winners all the best. He said that he went to court because he had faith in the court. He regretted that his evidence was disallowed by the court even after presenting it.
DESPITE heavy rains in town, there was a moment of teargas in town against CORD supporters who felt shortchanged by the court’s decision. Also in town were TNA supporters singing Uhuru praise carrying bread saying that now they have full bread. They were not teargassed. It looked as if the Uhuru suppoters were looking for trouble when they went at Tom Mboya’s monument a place where Raila supporters were not allowed to assemble by police. Raila asked everyone to maintain peace for the sake of Kenyan stability. Shops closed minutes before the verdict was read. It remains to be seen how the 2 sides takes the verdict and what Kenyans will say about the 10 minutes verdict which disallowed Raila’s and all petitioners petitions.
