Kibaki mourns Southern Sudan minister

President Mwai Kibaki has sent a message of condolence to the Government of Southern Sudan following the death of its Minister for Defence, Mr. Dominic Dim in a plane crash on Friday, May 2, 2008.

The President in his message said he had learnt with regret and deep sorrow the untimely death of the minister and other passengers following the tragic plane crash.

The Head of State extended on behalf of the Government and people of Kenya sympathies to the bereaved families and people of Southern Sudan and prayed that God gave them strength to bear the loss and overcome the grief.

President Kibaki regretted that the cruel hand of death had robbed the people of Southern Sudan an able and dependable leader whose contribution and vision for a prosperous and peaceful country would be greatly missed. 

The Head of state prayed that the souls of the late Mr. Dim and other passengers who died in the crash rest in everlasting peace.
